Daily user checks

Record room temperature, confirm that doors close correctly and look for unusual noise, water or ice. Check that stored products do not block evaporator airflow.

Weekly housekeeping

Clean floor drains, remove packaging near coils and inspect door gaskets. Keep the outdoor condensing unit free from boxes, weeds and other airflow restrictions.

Monthly management checks

Review temperature records, alarms and energy-use changes. Look for repeated controller resets, product complaints or longer run times, which can indicate developing faults.

Professional service tasks

A technician can clean heat exchangers, check fans and electrical connections, inspect refrigerant conditions, test defrost operation and verify controls and safety devices.

Keep an asset history

Record model and serial numbers, repair dates, parts used and measured conditions. Good records help identify recurring faults and support replacement decisions.

When to call a technician

Arrange professional assessment when equipment cannot maintain a safe temperature, repeatedly trips, shows refrigerant or electrical concerns, or risks stock loss. Provide clear photographs and do not dismantle live or pressurised components.
