A practical guide to service intervals based on equipment type, environment, usage and business risk.

There is no universal interval

Service frequency depends on dust, grease, ambient temperature, operating hours, door openings and the value of the stock. A busy kitchen may need attention more often than a clean, air-conditioned office.

High-use and high-risk sites

Restaurants, supermarkets, butcheries and food-production sites often benefit from monthly or quarterly checks, especially where a breakdown would stop trading or threaten stock.

Lower-use equipment

Office fridges and lightly used beverage coolers may require less frequent professional service, but condensers, door seals, drains and temperatures still need routine user checks.

Use condition and history

Repeated icing, high electricity use, slow pull-down or frequent call-outs are signs that the interval or maintenance scope should be reviewed.

What a service should include

A useful service goes beyond wiping surfaces. It should cover heat exchangers, fans, drainage, electrical condition, controls, door seals, temperature performance and visible refrigerant concerns.

When to call a technician

Arrange professional assessment when equipment cannot maintain a safe temperature, repeatedly trips, shows refrigerant or electrical concerns, or risks stock loss. Provide clear photographs and do not dismantle live or pressurised components.
